Medical Information

Q. Are vaccinations, malaria prevention, etc. required for traveling outside of the United States?

A. Depending on the country(s) being visited, you may wish to obtain vaccination against certain diseases. We suggest contacting your personal physician regarding your needs. For general information you can contact the U.S. Center for Disease Control at http://www.cdc.gov/travel/ or their Traveler's Health Hotline at 1-877-394-8747.

Q. Are facilities abroad handicap accessible?

A. Barrier-free facilities, which are now widely available in the United States, often are lacking in tour destinations abroad. It is strongly recommended that disabled traveler(s) be accompanied by a travel companion to provide assistance.

Q. Do you provide travel insurance?

A. Travel insurance is not included in the prices of our group tours or vacation packages. It is the responsibility of each passenger/client to secure trip insurance. Travel insurance information is sent upon receiving your deposit, or you can purchase it directly on-line via the internet. (See below). Coverage includes trip cancellation, trip interruption, medical expense and evacuation, baggage loss, accidental death, and emergency assistance. Additional medical coverage can also be purchased.

Q. How much does travel insurance cost?

A. The amount you pay for insurance depends on your age and the amount you insure. For example, if you are age 55 and you insure $5,000, your insurance cost would be .07% of the total or $350, plus a $5 processing fee. Premiums must be made by check or money order in U.S. dollars drawn on an U.S. bank.

Q. Does travel insurance cover pre-existing conditions?

A. No! The Exclusion for Pre-Existing Conditions will be waived if the enrollment form and your premium payment is postmarked or received within 15 days of the date of your initial trip deposit; you insure all prepaid trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions; and you are not disabled from travel at the time you pay your premium.

Q. Can I buy insurance via the internet?

A. Yes. You can learn about the travel insurance, and purchase a policy from a well established provider on-line by clicking on the link below:

If you do buy on-line from them, please enter our Participating Organization number (32242) in the upper right hand corner of the form.
