Known for its views of the sea and fabulous rose-laden gardens, Villa Cimbrone has drawn the rich and famous for decades. Once the home of Greta Garbo, this wonderful estate castle has guest rooms from quaint to grand; (the "Peony Room" even has its own terrace).

A real plus for guests, is to have the villa's famous gardens all to themselves after at sunset (when the gates close to the public). Unless very fit, you will want porters to carry your luggage from town to the villa, as it is a healthy hike to this retreat, among most sirene place on the Amalfi Coast.
