The Hotel San Carlo is situated in the very center of Ancient Rome, in Via delle Carrozze one block from Via Condotti and 3 minutes walk to the Spanish Steps. Via Condotti is the heart of Rome's most elegant shopping district and of course the Spanish Steps are among Rome's principle attractions. Because of the location, friendly service and reasonable cost, the Hotel San Carlo is rated in the top 5 % of hotels in Rome.

All 50 rooms are bright and equipped with en suite bathroom, direct dial telephone, satellite TV and air-conditioning. The rooms on the upper floors are relatively quiet (considering the location, bring ear plugs for the lower floors) and some of them have private terrace. The superior double and triple rooms (see picture below) are more spacious and cost $15 -$25 per person per night more than the standard doubles, depending upon the season. The standard double rooms are certainly not elegant but are clean and comfortable and the service is friendly. (We have requested pictures of the standard rooms). The rooms in the annex have use of a small elevator, but be advised that the main hotel does not have an elevator and the climb to the top floors can be challenging if you are out of shape.
