Tuscany viewed from Borgo tre Rose
Borgo tre Rose is in the most picturesque part of the Tuscan countryside and is the epitome of the history of Tuscany. I Palazzi, now Borgo Tre Rose, was a house and boundary tower that belonged to the Marquises of Valiano. Purchased in the mid-13th century by Raniero del Pecora, it was one of the summer residences of St. Margaret of Valiano and Cortona, who lived there for nine years from 1263 to 1272. Borgo Tre Rose still has the crypt with her prayers. After 750 years, thanks to the devotion of innkeeper Antonella and her family, Borgo Tre Rose still looks like a medieval hamlet. Accommodation units, hotel rooms and apartments, are nestled on a rise overlooking the surrounding countryside, in the middle of the Tenuta Tre Rose wine-growing estate. The town is an oasis of tranquillity and beauty, as well as an ideal starting point for a vacation filled with history and art masterpieces.
Tenuta Tre Rose is one of the families 3 wineries and is located in a 17th century villa and estate that produces the best Nobile di Montepulciano. A full 50 hectares are devoted to growing Nobile grapevines, but the white grapes are also renowned, with unique, distinctive characteristics. The villa itself is a popular venue for elegant weddings.
