This charming property has the unique feature of falling into both our "category 3" and "category 4" for accommodations. This is primarily due to it having 4-types of rooms, as well as a fine restuarant. Located at the walled midieval town of Spello, La Bastiglia hilltop inn was once a working grain mill which happened to have spectacular views of Umbria.
With a recently completed new section overlooking the nearby green hills and the Sibillini mountains in the distance, the standard rooms are simply decorated yet very comfortable, and are an exceptional value when compared to comparable locations in Spello. (The suites are a bit more upscale, some have hot tubs on their terrace.) The Michelin rated restaurant specializes in unique variations on traditional Umbrian dishes that feature truffles and mushrooms. (This is not your average cafe! So look for things like roasted pigeon or a sorbetto of wild berries in the summer.)
